As Qua Granit, our 20.4 MWp solar power plant project, which we carried out with T2D Yenilenebilir Enerji Sis. San. ve Ticaret A.Ş. in order to reduce our energy costs, to be protected from electricity price increases, to reduce our carbon footprint, and to contribute to the protection of a sustainable environment, has been completed and put into operation.
The total investment cost of the 150,000 m² rooftop SPP plant at our company`s Aydın Söke OSB facility is approximately USD 10.2 million, and 35,478 new-generation Topcon Ntype solar panels were used in its construction. With the commissioning of the Solar Power Plant (SPP), we will reduce approximately 14,222 tons of CO² emissions annually and prevent the cutting of approximately 37,250 mature trees annually.
